In this article, we will walk you through how you can configure an MX record for your domain and set up your FlockMail account.
alert-warning |
FlockMail needs you to verify domain ownership and activate email services by setting MX records & TXT records. Please note: Unverified domains won't be able to receive or send emails. To know more about Domain Verification, click here. |
alert-success | If you are the admin of your domain, follow the steps below. Else, please contact your domain admin to set the MX records. |
- Log in to your WIX account and select the website you want to make changes to (click here) and click on Manage domains at the top bar and then and then on Manage DNS Zone to navigate to the DNS Zone.
image-shadow - In the DNS Zone scroll down to MX (Mail Exchanger) and then select Other from the drop-down list. Then enter the below value to add MX record(omit the quotes):
- Points to: "mx1.flockmail.com"
image-shadow
- Points to: "mx1.flockmail.com"
- Following the same steps as mentioned above, a second MX record needs to be added whose value is:
- Points to: "mx2.flockmail.com"
- Points to: "mx2.flockmail.com"
- Again following the same steps as mentioned above, TXT record needs to be added whose values are (omit the quotes):
- Hostname: ""
- Value: "v=spf1 include:spf.flockmail.com ~all"
alert-warning Make sure that you add the TXT records in the "TXT" section and not the "SPF" section.
That’s it. You have just pointed your emails to your FlockMail. It could take anywhere between 6-8 hrs for your website to be functional due to DNS Propagation.
